TicketProof / Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED · 12 AUGUST 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data TicketProof collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It covers both the TicketProof app and this website. The data controller is TicketProof Ltd, Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom — contact support@ticketproof.co.uk.
1. Data we collect (app)
- Account data: your email address. Account credentials are securely managed by our authentication provider.
- Profile data: the username and avatar you choose, the optional bio you write, and a points total calculated from what you have contributed. See “What other users can see” below.
- Location data: your device location is used while the app is open to show nearby reports, validate report distance, and provide navigation. We do not track your location in the background and we do not store a history of your movements.
- Content you submit: warden reports (a map coordinate and timestamp), parking spot details, photos, and issue reports.
- Local data: preferences such as dark mode, recent searches, and parking timers are stored only on your device.
2. How we use your data
We use your data to operate TicketProof: showing community reports on the map, moderating submissions, and sending you the notifications you request (such as parking timer reminders and nearby warden alerts). We do not sell your personal data. TicketProof is planned to show ads to free accounts to help fund the service; this policy will name any advertising provider, and what it receives, before ads go live.
3. What other users can see
Other TicketProof users can see your username, the avatar you pick, your points total, your driver number and the badge you have chosen to display. Those five things appear on the public leaderboard, and a warden report you submit is shown to nearby drivers with your username attached.
Tapping your name on the leaderboard opens your public profile. It shows those same five things plus your bio, how many badges you hold, any leaderboard championships you have won and the month you joined — and nothing else about you. Your bio is optional and yours to write: it is limited to 160 characters, cannot contain links, email addresses or phone numbers, is filtered for offensive content, and you can clear or change it at any time. Other drivers can report a profile, and a moderator can remove a bio. We never show which individual badges you hold, only how many — the exception is a championship, which records a position on a leaderboard that was public at the time.
Avatars are chosen from a fixed set of icons we provide; you cannot upload a photo of yourself and we never ask for one. Your email address, your location, the places you search for, your parking timers and your appeals are never shown to other users.
The leaderboard is on by default. You can take yourself off it at any time by turning on Ghost Mode, in the app under Settings → Privacy. With Ghost Mode on, other users cannot see you on the leaderboard at all and nobody but you can open your public profile; you continue to see your own position, which is visible only to you. The change takes effect immediately. Turning Ghost Mode on does not affect the username shown on warden reports you have already submitted.
4. Sharing
We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate TicketProof, including cloud hosting, authentication, mapping, navigation, search and push notifications. These providers receive only the minimum information necessary to provide their services. We do not sell your personal data. We may also share or transfer information we collect under this privacy policy in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our services if such a transaction takes place, along with any choices you may have regarding your information.
5. AI-assisted appeals
If you use our ticket appeal feature, the details of your ticket, the explanation you write, any photos you add, and your messages with our appeal advisor are processed by a third-party AI provider to generate your appeal letter and power the advisor chat. This involves transferring that information to a provider based outside the UK and EU; the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, and your information is not used to train the provider’s AI models. Where your appeal relies on medical, disability, or other special-category information, we only send it to the AI provider after you have given explicit consent at the point you tell us your grounds involve sensitive circumstances.
6. Retention
Warden reports expire after 2 hours and are kept only in anonymised form to calculate historical parking risk. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and your public profile is anonymised. You may reactivate your account by logging back in within 30 days. After 30 days, your personal data is permanently deleted. Community contributions (warden reports and parking data) are retained in anonymised form as they form part of the community dataset.
7. This website & the waitlist
- Waitlist: if you join the waitlist we store the email address you give us, when you joined, and a salted one-way hash of your network address (used only to prevent abuse of the signup form — your actual IP address is not stored). We use the address solely to tell you about TicketProof’s launch, and send one confirmation email when you sign up. To come off the list at any time, email support@ticketproof.co.uk or reply to any email we send, and we’ll delete your address.
- Analytics: this website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool that does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across sites.
- Cookies: this website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set a strictly-necessary security cookie to protect the site from malicious traffic.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at support@ticketproof.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. To request full erasure of your personal data under UK GDPR Article 17, contact support@ticketproof.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Children
TicketProof is not intended for children under 16.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time, and continued use of the app or website means you accept the changes. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
